Hi all,
Thought I would provide a quick update about the Fabric Heroes Project. The StartSomeGood campaign has now finished. We reached our goal and the boys are busy writing handwritten notes to all of our generous donors. Thank you so much to everyone that supported the boys project. We have been blown away by the support.
We are super excited to announce that we have ordered our Fabric Bags and are busy getting the Fabric Bag Swap Stations ready. Our first station will be set up at the amazing Riverton Fresh IGA on High Road. Jeff, the Manager was the first to get behind the boy’s project and we really appreciate their support.
In other exciting developments, Southlands Boulevarde in Willetton is keen to help the boys. Keep an eye out for Fabric Hero activities around the centre. We will also be setting up Fabric Bag Swap Stations at Southlands too. We have also had wonderful support from the local community. Some very talented students from local high schools, like Lynwood Senior HighSchool are creating some artistic fabric bags for our stations. Members of the public have been sewing and dropping off bags for us too.
Finally, we may have some more exciting developments in the New Year. Scentre Group/Westfield are keen to have discussions with the boys in January.
If you sew or are part of a high school who would like to contribute to our project, please get in touch. You can reach me, Amanda at admin@wahomestay.com.au. We are also still taking donations. Feel free to Donate through the link on our site.
Thank you again Fellow Fabric Heroes. Once the boys have stretched out their hands from the handwritten notes, they’ll be posting some blogs about their journey and plastics in the environment.
